Youth Achievers in Sports

The group won the 16-under Nations Baseball of Greater Orlando Summer Close Out last week. The Cannons went unassailable in pool play and from end to end the finals rounds.

Charming pitcher for the Cannons were Tyler Bender, D.J. Schleicher, Ryan Hutson, Justin Gubelman and Brian Mackin. The offense motorized by two home runs each for Dan Vogelbach, Zach Haefeli and Josh Garcia and one by Nick Rivera.

Jeff Bender manages the team with the help of assistant coach Juan Berrios and Coach Nick Hutson.

South Africans unite behind gender row athlete


The 18-year-old athletic won a gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin on Wednesday. She was practically unknown until last month, when she set a new trace for the 800m in the African Junior Championships.

That achievement also destined she had enhanced her person best by seven seconds in less than nine months and she began to create a center of attention.

While the athlete, who comes from a rustic village in Limpopo area, has shrugged off speculation over her gender, others have taken the matter to heart. According to media reports, the IAAF is testing to see whether Semenya has an unusual genetic disorder that way she has female genitalia but boy chromosomes. This situation, known as intersex, commonly referred to as hermaphroditic.

Dhoni tribute to Michael Jackson


On August 16, Mahendra Singh Dhoni the latest famous person pays his tribute to Michael Jackson. Indian Team Captain came in his cool way to attend the national selection panel gathering in Chennai, wearing a Michael Jackson T-shirt.

In that gathering Indian team formed 15 players for next month's tri-series in Sri Lanka and the Champions Trophy in South Africa. Rahul Dravid rejoinder to the ODI fold and Sachin Tendulkar returned to the framework after opting out of the ODI series in the West Indies.

Chelsea is thrown the title “taunt” by Liverpool’s Torres



Liverpool hit man Fernando Torres has thrown a title mock at both Chelsea and Manchester United, says his association will show its real intentions in appropriate route.

"We have no difficulty thumping Manchester United or Chelsea although it is games like Sunday's at Tottenham, we need to show our real title intentions," Torres, as saying.The Spanish person believes that his side has to win the League title this time after gone astray out by just four points to champion’s united previous time.

Carling Cup win at Darlington

A headed goal from Enoch Showunmi take Leeds United into the following round of the Carling Cup, but Darlington made the guest work hard for their win. Showunmi strike after 54 min, react faster than the League Two side's goalkeeper, David Knight, to achieve a cross beginning Robert Snodgrass.

Three Brazilian athletes Suspended

Three Brazilian athletes have been suspended for two years after positive result in test.

Sprinters Bruno Tenorio and Jorge Celio Sena and heptathlete Lucimara Silvestre, who had positive for Recombinant EPO, waived true to have their B samples examined to avoid a possible more inflexible penalty.The suspension runs until June 2011.

India win England in 2nd Hockey test series

The Indians created a fine display of speed and skill to wipe away a two-goal deficit and sharp up their first win of the European tour at the University of Birmingham.

Last Wednesday England won the first Test 3-1. This time opening match started very aggressively but met with stiff resistance from the Indian defenders, for the most part from Sardar Singh in a his new role of sweeper back.

England earned six fine corners in the first half, had to wait for the last one to net the opener. Ashley Jackson got it spot on in the 22nd minute as his influential flick finally beat Adrian D'souza.

In the eighth minute, India had scoring opportunity first but Tushar Khandker failed to control SV Sunil's powerful cross to the back post.

India went into full strangle but soon fell into further amount overdue as England built up on a turnover in the 26th minute. India returned for the second half with new vigour and they turned the game on its head with two goals in rapid succession. Chief coach Jose Brasa refuses to get accepted absent with the response win and put the result down to new confidence in his team.
