India win England in 2nd Hockey test series

The Indians created a fine display of speed and skill to wipe away a two-goal deficit and sharp up their first win of the European tour at the University of Birmingham.

Last Wednesday England won the first Test 3-1. This time opening match started very aggressively but met with stiff resistance from the Indian defenders, for the most part from Sardar Singh in a his new role of sweeper back.

England earned six fine corners in the first half, had to wait for the last one to net the opener. Ashley Jackson got it spot on in the 22nd minute as his influential flick finally beat Adrian D'souza.

In the eighth minute, India had scoring opportunity first but Tushar Khandker failed to control SV Sunil's powerful cross to the back post.

India went into full strangle but soon fell into further amount overdue as England built up on a turnover in the 26th minute. India returned for the second half with new vigour and they turned the game on its head with two goals in rapid succession. Chief coach Jose Brasa refuses to get accepted absent with the response win and put the result down to new confidence in his team.

The third and final match of the series is on Sunday.
